Those members of the Zforum who are resident at locations some distance from home,
such as distant towns, villages or countries, are encouraged to inform friends of
the where-abouts of at least one next of keen. This is more so for those that have
no authority to reside at their current location. It becomes very difficult to inform
relations, in the event of an accident, if nobody knows who to inform.
Also, members are encouraged to take out personal insurnce aginst any personal health problems. in most western countries there is a real risk of attack from racist groups. In such an event, it is potentiall possible to suffer personal injury, resulting in disfigurement, disability or death. It is also possible to be involved in an accident, resulting in any type of injury or death. In any event it becomes a very costly business for family members to visit the victim in hospital in another town, village or country. It is a lot cheaper to arrange insurance with a Zimbabwean insurer. Please check that the listed benefits include transport of the insuered's remains back home. This is usually the most expensive part for the family. eg flying a body from the UK to Zimbabwe costs between �4500 and �7000. (Zim$270 000 - 420 000. This is well out of the normal reach of an average Zimbabwean family, including those that can be described as well-to-do. |
